Biography

Bailey Parnell is a world-renowned speaker, theorist, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the field of digital wellbeing. At just 22 years old, Bailey was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women. Since then, ahe has partnered with prestigious organizations like the United Nations, Deloitte, the NFL, and various governments and universities around the world to share her insights on our digital lives, generative AI, human skills development, and leadership in the future of work. As a thought leader, Bailey has shared stages with heads of state, consulted on popular TV shows such as Survivor and Love Island, and collaborated on research and initiatives aimed at helping people learn the skills they need to thrive personally and professionally in the future. As a result of this work, Bailey has been featured in Forbes, Good Morning America, CBC, and won numerous accolades. Chief among them, Bailey's TED talk about social media and mental health has been seen by over 4 million people and counting.

Bailey Parnell is presently advancing her thinking through a Doctorate of Education in Learning and Organizational Change at Baylor University where she is studying how generative AI could and should be used in human skills development. Before this, she earned her Master of Arts in Communications and Culture at Toronto Metropolitan University with research exploring social media’s impact on mental health - the results of which have been presented at multiple global forums. Bailey also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Media Production with a double minor in News Studies and English.When Bailey is not learning, she has made a career and a business out of teaching. Bailey is the Founder & CEO of SkillsCamp, a soft skills development company that partners with the world’s leading organizations to help them build skills like emotional intelligence, communication, and leadership in their people. She also hosts a bi-weekly podcast called “Let’s Think This Through with Bailey Parnell” where she and her guests explore useful ideas that help people live better lives in a fun and relatable way.

An active humanitarian, Bailey is deeply committed to social justice and causes such as access to education, children's wellbeing, and of course, digital wellbeing. Being at the forefront of the digital wellbeing movement, Bailey started a non-profit called #SafeSocial where they teach and empower others with what they need to be well in digital worlds. As first generation students, Bailey and her husband Hamza Khan, have also established the Parnell-Khan Bursaries at 3 universities, with more to come.
